Aloraya
Private Alpha

One universe. Three ways to play.

Aloraya is one game with three ways to play: a space strategy MMO, a pixel art MMORPG and a creature collector. Build an empire among the stars, land on the worlds your fleets discover and befriend whatever lives there. One account, one server, one universe.

The alpha is closed while the game is still moving under our feet. Ask for access, and once your address is cleared you create your account right here.

One game. Three ways to play.
Space strategy MMO

A universe that keeps running while you sleep

Build mines and reactors, send fleets across distances that cost fuel and hours, and settle battles between millions of ships in a single second. Aloraya runs on a server clock, whether you are watching or not.

Universe

A map with real distance, on worlds that keep moving

Galaxy, solar system, orbit. Every planet circles its star on its own period, so your target has moved on by the time you arrive. A flight solves the interception instead of drawing a straight line across a dead grid.

  • Twelve orbits per system, and temperature decides what can live there
  • Distance is paid in fuel and hours, never in clicks
  • Deep space observatories show you what the naked eye cannot
Combat

Battles that scale to millions of ships

Ships are resolved per type instead of per hull, so an engagement of ten million ships is decided in well under a second. Shots scatter, shields hold or break, and the wrong hull class dies to its predator no matter how many you brought.

  • A counter matrix in which every class has a hunter
  • Replay the whole engagement round by round
  • Wrecks stay behind as debris fields for anyone to harvest
Play the real battle
Build-up

A world you can use up

Every planet holds a finite amount of ore. Deep drilling multiplies what a single unit of ore yields, so better technology buys your world more life instead of a bigger number. Once it is empty you move on and leave a husk behind.

  • Energy, atmosphere and water are hard limits, not decoration
  • Climate decides what a world is good at
  • Depletion outlives the owner. A tapped world stays tapped
Civilizations

Four peoples, four talent trees, and points you cannot spend twice

You pick one of four civilizations, and it decides what your empire is good at. Talent points come out of research, and every tree holds thirty two nodes across several tiers, each tier with its own cap and its own efficiency. So where you put a point matters more than how many you have.

  • Yield, speed, salvage, colonisation. Every people leans somewhere else
  • Talents reach into extraction, travel time and what your ships are able to do
  • You may rethink the whole tree later, and it will cost you
Move your entire world
The world ark carries no guns, only your economy. It abandons your planet the moment it launches, flies for hours, and rebuilds everything at another star. There is no recall, and if it was your only world you are homeless until it lands.
Worlds end
An exhausted planet can be broken apart for its debris. Once a system has been stripped bare its star goes out, and much later it lights up again as something new.
Something already lives there
Hostile lifeforms hold worlds across twenty four levels of strength, and the further out you go the worse they get. Their fleet is scaled to the hoard they are sitting on, so the richest world is always the best defended.
Market and auctions
Prices follow supply and demand instead of a fixed table. Goods and payment both travel as real freight, so a deal takes time.
Seasons that end
A season runs for four months. Then the map closes, a completely new universe is rolled for the next one, and you carry your empire over to the permanent server. Your final standing is kept.
Five ways to be first
Total, economy, research, fleet and conquest are ranked separately, and alliances have boards of their own. Everything freezes once a day, so a rank means something and you can see who moved overnight.
Pixel MMORPG

And then you leave the ship

Every world your server discovers becomes a pixel art MMORPG that you walk on foot. You fight in real time, pick up what falls, learn a trade and meet the rest of the server on the hub. It is open from your first minutes.

1
Pick your first form
Four starters, each with a role of its own. Choose one and a weapon, and you are on the ground.
2
Set down on the hub
The hub world is where the server meets: portals, trainers, the auction house and the arena.
3
Walk every world your server finds
A new world opens for everyone the moment someone finds peaceful life on it with an expedition in the space game.

Worlds

Eight kinds of world, each with rules of its own

Every world grows out of a seed. Lava runs through volcanic worlds, gas giants are a sea of clouds crossed by walkways, jungles keep villages up in the canopy, ocean worlds stand on stilts and ice worlds bury you knee deep in snow.

  • Weather that changes the ground: rain, storms, dust, spores and snow that stays
  • Day and night, with a day length of its own on every world
  • Caves several floors deep, with a lamp, secret rooms and something waiting at the bottom
Action

Your own fight happens in real time

Out in the world you fight yourself, with sword, staff or bow. Enemies telegraph their attacks, so a meteor, a wall of flame or a net can be dodged if you watch the ground. Bosses have a move of their own, and now and then a rare variant pays ten times the coins.

  • 36 abilities with ten ranks each
  • Novice first, then one of three classes, then specialisations and masteries
  • A talent grid and four attributes to shape your own playstyle
Progress

Bars that fill, and a reason to come back tomorrow

Everything you do levels something up: your Xenologist, every weapon you practise, every trade you learn. Eight professions in four pairs, each up to level 100, and 511 recipes to unlock along the way.

  • Mining and smithing, botany and biochemistry, woodcutting and carpentry, fishing and cooking
  • A hunting contract for each of 70 enemy kinds, stacking for as long as you keep hunting
  • Chests in five tiers, ore veins with a jackpot, a legendary fishing spot on every world
Together

A city full of players

The hub is where the whole server meets. Form a group of up to four and share the loot, trade forms and gear with other players, sell in the auction house or challenge someone to a duel.

  • Everyone you meet is a real player, with a look and gear of their own
  • An auction house for everything you do not need yourself
  • Leaderboards for level, professions, creatures and the arena
Creature collector

618 creatures, and each one can be won over

The same worlds are full of creatures you can befriend instead of defeat. Build a team of five, raise it, evolve it and send it into turn based duels against wild forms, trainers and other players.

Creatures

618 forms to befriend, raise and evolve

A creature is not caught, it is won over. In the middle of a battle you offer it a sweet, and a heart beats one to three times. Whatever joins you levels up, learns new moves and evolves right after the fight.

  • 16 types in four families, readable at a glance
  • Turn based duels against wild forms, trainers and other players
  • Rare transcendent variants that glow and get announced to the whole server
Arena

Your team against everyone else's

Take your five to the Colosseum on the hub and meet the teams of other players. Every match moves your rating, a weekly league decides who ends the week on top, and every Saturday there is a live tournament.

  • The Colosseum: your team against the teams of other players, rated by Elo
  • A weekly league and a live tournament every Saturday
  • A catalog of every form you have seen and every one you have won over
Nobody can buy an advantage over you

There is a shop, and every boost in it runs for a whole hour for the entire server instead of for the person who paid. Money buys the server a good hour, never you a better position.
